Tricks: Owl Edition.

This morning I was heading out the door with my boys to go to our friends house. I looked in my bag to make sure I had a few snacky items for them. Something odd caught my eye. Curious, I pulled out a plastic baggy partially filled with something weird, hairy and round. "What on earth..." I thought to myself assuming these funky goobers were possibly month-old forgotten grapes, or cheese chunks that had gotten stuck in the deep abyss of my purse. But upon closer inspection I realized that these were not moldy food, but rather fresh owl pellets. Yep, owl barf (sort of).

I chuckled heartily to myself as my mind raced back to yesterday evening. Oscar, my Mom, and I were in my parents back yard. My mother found some owl pellets, which is a rather normal (yet continually fascinating) thing to come across in their yard. My mom picked up the pellets (yes with her bare hands, we Robison girls are hardcore like that:)) and dazzled Oscar at the prospect of dissecting the droppings. They placed the findings in a small sandwich bag and left them on the patio table for later. We all forgot about them, well all of us except Oscar who made sure that the pellet filled bag made it into my purse before we left for our home.

Then he fell asleep and forgot about them. Well, at least until I, momentarily bewildered, pulled them out of my bag this morning.
