Freeze.

Tonight was really good night. Super simple, but so much fun.

We all went outside after dinner and enjoyed the weather. Angus wanted to play freeze tag, so a game was started. At first he looked at me and said, "I want to play with you. Because you are so slow." He still had his swimsuit on from playing in still full kiddie pool in the backyard earlier in the day. Angus was "it" first and picked up a big deflated exercise ball and began using that as the tagging device. If you got hit with the ball, you had to freeze.

Pretty soon Oscar joined in, and with him came a new rule, "if you are standing in the kiddie pool, your safe." The game continued. And boy was it fun, and silly, and full of shrieks of laughter.

Bryan joined in  too and we were all running, and throwing the ball, getting smacked with the deflated ball, jumping in the kiddie pool, sliding on the grass, unfreezing each other, yelling and laughing so hard that one of us may have slightly peed her pants. At one point Oscar jumped in to the kiddie pool safe zone, slipped, and fell in with all his clothes on. We all nearly split a gut, and he just kept on playing.

Our neighbor, Ray, poked his head over the fence and said, "that the sound of us playing was one of the best sounds he had heard in a long time." He is right, those kinds of loud happy sounds really are some of the best. It was seriously the one of the funnest freeze tag games we have had in our back yard to date.

It was one of those evenings of unplanned fun that you just did not want to have end, we sure didn't. Evenings spent together like this are good for the soul.
