On the eve of my birthday we took a family bike ride down to one of our favorite spots on the river. My little biker boys looked so cute on their bikes, and we all looked goofy in our helmets. At this spot in the river it is just the perfect depth for wading and splashing and playing. You can even wade out a ways to a little Island that sits between the greenbelt and the actual Boise river. The evening was warm, the light was soft, and the water was cool and refreshing on our dirty feet. We threw rocks and picked up sticks. Bryan and the boys began building a rock hut. They carefully selected and placed layers of river rocks, followed by a layer of wet muddy sand mortar. They worked hard! We finished it off with river stick picket fence. Then waded back to our bikes and rode home. We all love being together on evening outings like this, they are definitely one of our favorite things about summertime.

Yoga posing or river peeing?? |

Oscar doing his famous stance. If you see him in this pose he is either, thinking about something really deeply (usually aliens, monsters, or building bionicles), Or he just needs to poop really bad. Tonight he said it was the latter. I bet a lot of our concentration faces are similar to our "poop" faces. This caption is getting too long...and gross. |
