And cookies were involved.

Tonight after dinner we made chocolate chip cookies. I stood in the middle closest to the kitchen-aid, each boy grabbed a chair and flanked me on each side eager to help as usual. When it came time to add the chocolate chips Oscar was ready and waiting. Armed with scissors he was excited to cut the bag open. He tried a few times to cut the bag, but it did not work. Calmly he said, "Man, these scissors are really damn." Slightly confused at his statement, I asked coolly "What do you mean Oscar?" He then said, "Well these scissors just are not sharp enough." "Oh!" I responded, " You mean these scissors are really dull!" We looked at each other and laughed. I was relieved that he had not picked up my small swearing habit, and he reminded me that a dam is a house a beaver builds."

As we were finishing eating some of our cookies tonight, I let out a giant belch. The boys were sitting at the kitchen island and Angus looked at me annoyed and disgusted (as if he has never heard me burp my famous burps before!). He threw his arms up in the air and loudly proclaimed, "MOM! I told you never to burp or fart around me again!!" I quickly said excuse me, apologized and then said. "Angus, burps and farts are just part of who I am. But I promise to be better about doing it when you are not around."  He then proceeded to blow giant bubbles in his milk glass.
