Naked and free.

Little boys are meant to be naked and free.

Especially in the summa-time.

('Cause once they get "old" this sort of public

display would be just plain CREEPY.)

(Can you spot a naked bummy?)

Ahh, the joyous inhibitions of childhood!

Helmet head.

Tonight we walked down to the river to throw rocks. As we were leaving our house, Oscar saw his bike helmet in the garage. He grabbed it, and stated definitively that he wanted to wear it while he ran along side the jogger. We reminded him that he only had to wear a helmet for a bike ride, not for a walk. He shrugged his shoulders, said he already knew that, and put the helmet on anyway. Of course Angus loves to do what big brother does, so he insisted on wearing his helmet as well.

Normally these sweet kids GROAN when we ask them to wear their helmets on a bike ride. Apparently wearing a helmet while sitting in, or running next to the jogger is different.

So there we were walking down our street en route to the river. Golden summer evening sun at our backs, and out ahead of us were our children. Running down the street happily with helmets on.

(I am giggling even now, just thinking about how silly and dang cute they looked. Ah, the inhibitions of childhood, it's good for the soul.)

Living in our swimsuits.

It finally feels like SUMMER!
We have been spending our mornings at the pool,
and our afternoons in the backyard sprinklers.
It's fantastic.

Nearly naked.

Last weekend
we enjoyed a near-naked lunch
on our patio.
(By "we" I am strictly referring to those ages 4 and under. You believe me, right?)
