How cute.

I jumped on Bryan's back for a piggy back ride the other evening. Oscar looked at us and giggled quite a bit. Then he said "Awe, you guys are so cute! Where is the camera, I need to take a picture ."
Here is his picture:

We laughed, 'cause it was funny.

Rotten.

This past rotten week, in a nutshell.

Screaming baby all through the night. Hear my children hacking. I start hacking too. Oscar has diarrhea. Oscar throws up. Another near sleepless night. More diarrhea. Oscar throws up again. It stinks, literally. Now Angus throws up. He is so unhappy. These boys are farting like crazy. P.U. I feel nauseous. Bryan is congested. The house is a disaster. My throat starts to scratch again. Have I fed my kids today? Oscar throws up...again. I guess we will put on another movie. Hope their minds don't turn to mush. My throat is on fire. What the crap. Angus is teething and he is pissed. He will not sleep at night. He will not nap. The neighbors have a party, the music keeps us awake till 3:00 am. Jerks! 2 hours spent in a doctors office. I have strep again. Second time in 7 weeks. They shove a needle in my hip. Angus is finally now asleep.

I am complaining, I know. It could be worse. I do have a LOT to be grateful for. But, maybe by recording the crappy nature of this week, I will better appreciate the good and/or uneventful weeks we do often have around here.

Sick little froggy.

3:30 am- Oscar wet the bed. Change him into dry jammies, he hops in bed with us.

5:50 am-Angus wants a bottle. I give him one. He goes back to sleep. I think it is actually 7:00 am, and try to wake myself up enough to exercise. I am relieved as I look at the clock and realize I can sleep for another hour.

6:18 am- Oscar is tossing and turning, he asks for a drink of water. I get him one, and tell him to go back to sleep.

6:30 am- Oscar is fitful again, and coughing. Please go back to sleep.

6:40 am- Oscar cries, sits up, and barfs in our bed. I throw my pillow underneath him to "catch" some of the stinky gunk. We get him cleaned up, and the bed stripped down.

6:55 am- We lay back down on the bed, turn on a flashlight and play shadow creatures on the ceiling with our hands (Daddy wins for most creative creatures). Oscar loves it so much he starts jumping around like a frog...and then ribbits up some more vomit.

Enjoy your breakfast!

Boogalicious.

(Oscar riding, and falling off, Reece this morning, unrelated to post)
Do you remember the stuff called Gak? That fun ooey, gooey, squishy stuff kids play with?

This morning Oscar so kindly handed me one of his boogers. As it sat there on the tip of my finger it reminded me a lot of Gak. I actually squished it (yes the booger) around between my finger and thumb for a minute or so, before I realized that I was actually playing with a booger...not Gak.

Then I ate it.

NO I did NOT! I am completely joking. Scared you there didn't I? I am quite certain my booger eating days ended around the age of 3 (correct me if I am wrong Mom).

Then I visited the sink and washed my hands with hot sudsy water.

Fuzz.

Today was fuzzy.

Heat is temporarily blowing through the vents. I think we had homemade bread and honey for dinner, but I can't be to sure. There were a lot of dinosaurs. Boys were laughing, bath bubbles everywhere. It is 7:30, the boys are in bed asleep. My ears are ringing, and I am crawling in my bed too.

I hope I have super powers in the morning when I wake.

This list.

Some days the things on this list are mere annoyances. Other days they are sweet reminders, that this house is filled with people that I love, and who love me back.
  • the cluster of stickers stuck to my bedroom wall
  • the plastic golf clubs/balls strewn about the back yard
  • the chalk and chalk drawings on the patio
  • the poopy diaper sitting on the back step, waiting to be taken to the trash
  • the pile of dirty socks at the base of Bryan's dresser
  • the snot on my shoulder
  • the dinosaurs lined up on the floor
  • the tools littering the dining room table

Now, tomorrow I might feel overwhelmed with things to clean up. But today these things really are sweet reminders that people I love live here. (Cheesy, I know, but true)

Rainy-rain-rain.

It has been raining ALL day. It is interesting to me how different types of weather can incite certain human responses. Today's gloomy, gray, rainy-rain day has had the following effects (to name a few):

  • It is nearly 8:30 pm. I am still in the pajamas that I woke up in. I am still bra-less. However I did brush my teeth...at some point today...I think...wait, or was that last night. (Surely, the disturbing mental picture of my appearance that has just entered your head leaves no need for me to add an actual picture.)

  • Lots and lots of enjoyable time reading books with my two adorable boogers (Oscar and Angus). Thought I should clarify "boogers," so that I don't lead you to think I have some weird infatuation with, or was in fact reading books to, my own ACTUAL boogers.

  • At some point during lunch I became mesmerized by the filthy nature of the pantry door. I zoned out, staring at it for a good twenty minutes straight. Then proceeded to do nothing about it. (click pic for a closer look.)

  • An incessant amount of laundry. Notice the diplomas on the wall? Nice place for them to hang, huh. I was joking the other day with my family, that I placed my diploma on the wall in the laundry room on purpose. So that every time I am doing a load of wash I am reminded of what good use I am putting my Bachelors degree to.

  • An incredibly delicious loaf of homemade bread, and a mediocre batch of almond rocha (not pictured)

I am sure glad I got to spend this day with Oscar and Angus, regardless of its soggy nature.

Update. I thought I should add that I just put a bra on (I hope you're proud), in hopes that I can squeeze in a work out before bed...but we shall see.
