As part of my Mothers Day gift this year my sister Julia and I ran the Famous Potato half marathon, which was this past Saturday. The weather was perfect. We both felt great, and we ran every minute of it.
For about the first 5 miles the course was so packed we could hardly move. It was so frustrating! We both had to resist the urge to shove people out of the way. Once we could actually run our regular pace freely it was fantastic.
Our goal this race was to come in under 2 hours, and we both did (Helen 1:57 and some change, Julia 1:59 and some change). I am excited to work harder to speed up my pace, and I am itching to run another full marathon. I wish running the Seattle Rock'n' Roll could have worked into our plans this summer, but there will be more opportunities.
Thanks Julia! Let's keep on runnin'.
