Ode to the BFG.

We are currently reading the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) by Roald Dahl (not to be confused with Shel Silverstein) with Oscar. Both Bryan and I loved this book growing up.

I can remember my parents reading Julia (my lil' sis) and me this book when we were young. Our copy was a large, dark green, hardback edition that had a faint golden drawing of the Giant on the front. We were mesmerized by this magical book.

Now Oscar is mesmerized too.

The BFG has some of the most unique vocabulary around. It has been fun to get reacquainted with words like (but not limited to): Snozzcumber, cannybully, wondercrump, uckyslush, scrumdiddlyumptious, redunculous, and whizzpopper (my personal fave).

All "human beans" should read this book.

Did you know that there are 2, not 1 but 2 Ronald Dahl cookbooks in the kids section at the library? I get them and the kids pick out things for us to make - really fun.
