I feel like a weakling that my mood can be so dependant on the weather. But so it is.
The condensation dripping down on the inside of our 60 year old windows makes it seem like it's not only raining outside our house, but inside too. On days like this it seems the only logical way to combat the rainy day woes is to eat cookies for breakfast, keep your jammies on, turn up the music you love, have a massive pillow fight on the bed, bathe the dinos in the sink, eat cheese with the dog, and fold lots and LOTS of laundry.

A break from the breakage.
We love old houses with lots of character and charm, almost all the time. Well, except for when everything seems to break at once. Which certainly is NOT charming at all. On top of all the "regular" problems that need attention when remodeling an old home, within the last 6 weeks the following have been added to our ever growing, not-shrinking-quickly-enough, list:
- One of the pipes under our kitchen sink busted. Bry just fixed this, but for about 3 weeks I could only use one side of my sink and we had a big bucket underneath the other to catch any water that snuck over there.
- Our toilet on the main level has a slow leak under one side.
- The faucet in the basement kitchen is leaking.
- At about midnight last night we were wondering why it was so flipping freezing in our house, turns out the furnace decided to go sleep and not wake up... we are trying to revive it, but with no luck so far. In the meantime we are staying bundled.
- This morning as I was loading dishes I realized that our dishwasher is not draining. Crap.
- Not only is our house having "issues," but BOTH of our cars decided to give out and had to be towed to the shop in the same week. One is fixed and home, the other is still receiving a lot of TLC. (Much thanks to my Dad for helping us get these cars delivered to the mechanic, and for lending us a car in the meantime.)
We do love our home and are grateful/proud to call it ours. However we, along with our wallets, could use a break from all the "breaking" around here.

Faux pony-bangs.
It may have been all the tasty grease
from the fabulous funnel cakes my Mom made last Sunday,

Directions for totally awesome, (Hey, who said lame?) hair:
Put hair into highest ponytail possible.
Push hair all the way forward onto forhead.
Use bobby pins to pin in place on crown of head.
Feather out your new faux pony-bangs.

Bear bear the great.
Osburrito and Bear-bear.
You are a great buddy.
You are a great comforter.
And this week Oscar discovered you are a great "neck-warmer" too.
